After the dynamo workshops held in Alšovice (1979), Liblice (1988) and Třešť (1997) that were organized by Ivan Cupal and Pavel Hejda, and the workshop in Modra (1996) that was organized by Jozef Brestenský and Sebastián Ševčík, we organized another dynamo conference in the territory of previous Czecho-Slovakia. The conference on Natural Dynamos took place in Stará Lesná in Slovakia in 2009. We decided to continue with The 2nd Conference on Natural Dynamos after 8 years. The conference will take place in Valtice Castle in the Czech Republic, 25 June - 1 July 2017.
The meeting welcomes contributions dealing with hydromagnetic dynamos, magnetoconvection and various hydromagnetic processes acting in the Earth's core, planetary cores, in the Sun and other stars, in galaxies, accretion discs and other astrophysical objects, and also laboratory hydromagnetic and dynamo experiments. Contributions focusing on theoretical issues, experimental studies, numerical modeling, etc. are cordially invited. Both oral and poster presentations are foreseen. We would like to especially encourage young researchers, such as PhD students and Post-Docs, to use this opportunity and present results of their studies.
Jozef Brestenský and Pavel Hejda, who organised previous dynamo conferences, will be 66 years old in 2017. This conference is devoted to their anniversary, too.
